In April 2007, the brewery infamously started life in the garage of a domestic house on Wigan Road in Standish. The 5-barrel brewhouse was acquired from Bank Top brewery in nearby Bolton.
In 2010, due to increased demand, the brewery re-located to larger premises on the Bradley Hall Trading Estate in Standish. This opportunity was taken to substantially increase our brewing capacity. A bespoke 12-barrel brew plant was manufactured and installed by Johnson Engineering, one of the market leaders in producing brewing equipment. The four existing 5-barrel fermentors were retained and complemented by three new 12-barrel fermentors.
In 2017, the brewery was forced to relocate due a demolition order being served by the site owners. Despite best efforts to find a suitable site in Standish, this was not possible. As such, a premise in Wigan town centre proved to be the best-fit solution. The move to the new site on Great George Street in Wigan was completed in May, 2017.
In July 2019, the brewery was sold by the brewery founders (Patsy and John Slevin) to the current owners – Gill and John Stephenson.
